INGREDIENTS:

1 large onion, chopped                                                            

2 cloves garlic, chopped                            

2 inch piece ginger, chopped                     

1 tbsp cumin

1 tbsp garam masala

 1 tbsp cinnamon

1 tsp turmeric

1/2 tsp chillies

Handful fresh coriander, chopped

Extra virgin olive oil

500g beef mince

2 cups frozen peas

1 tin chopped tomates

125ml beef stock

-

1 cup white rice

Natural yoghurt

METHOD:

1) Heat a generous splash of olive oil in a saucepan and fry the onions, garlic and ginger until soft. Add the spices, season and throw in some fresh coriander and fry for 2-3 mins until it becomes very fragrant.

2) Add the mince to the pan and mix well to break up any lumps. Cook until brown and then add the peas.

3) Mix in the tinned tomatoes and stir on a medium heat for 10 mins.

4) Add the stock, top the pan with a lid and simmer on a low heat for 30 mins.

5) Cook some rice while it's simmering and serve with natural yoghurt and popadoms.
