bbq beef brisket

O V E R V I E W

INGREDIENTS:

1 beef brisket joint - 2.5lbs

 

FOR THE RUB:                           

1 tsp onion powder                     

1 tsp garlic powder                   

1 tsp cumin

2 tsp paprika

1 tsp crushed mustard seeds

2 tsp coconut sugar

 

FOR THE SAUCE:

4 tbsp tomato ketchup

4 tbsp BBQ sauce

4 tsbp soy sauce

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

2 garlic cloves, crushed

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp coconut sugar

200ml beef stock

METHOD:

1) Mix the spices and sugar together and thoroughly rub into the beef joint.

2) In the slow cooker, mix together all of the sauce ingredients and add 200ml of beef stock.

3) Once it's all mixed well, place the beef joint in and cover with as much sauce as possible.

4) Cook all day or overnight - I left it cooking for 13 hours.

5) Once you're ready to eat, take out the beef and shred with two forks. Mix together well with the sauce, and serve.
